Position Summary: 
  • Performs a variety of entry-level professional administrative staff work, gradually increasing in level of difficulty and responsibility as the incumbent receives on-the-job training related to the operational activities of the human resources department at Ozaukee County.
  • This role is a part-time, limited term position. 15-20 hours per week.
Description of the Job:
  • 25% Assists human resources department team members with projects and provides administrative support to help ensure the department runs smoothly.
  • 25% Assists with filing human resources personnel file paperwork. May assist with scanning personnel files or other items to be electronic.
  • 15% Assists with benefits administration.
  • 10% Creates social media content and calendar to post to Ozaukee County social media pages.
  • 10% May perform a wide variety of paraprofessional, technical, and clerical tasks during peak workload periods.
  • 10% Assisting with planning and execution of organization events.
  • 5% Other duties as assigned.
Supervision Received:
  • This intern will receive supervision from the Human Resources Director, as well as other staff members.

Education: (Include certificates, licenses and/or registrations required.)
Prospective or current students receiving Bachelors or Masters Degree in business administration or human resources.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience working in a professional setting.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Comfortable collaborating working with others.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt to a wide variety of tasks.
    • Organizational skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Work Environment:  
  • The Human Resources Intern works in a typical office setting with minor background noise.
