Great opportunity to start a career in law enforcement and new academy graduates are encouraged to apply; must be a certifiable law enforcement officer. The undercover drug investigator is a limited term, non-benefit sworn deputy who performs specific investigative and enforcement tasks to detect and arrest individuals who have committed drug related crimes, and to perform related work to support the successful prosecution of these persons.

Job Requirements:
  • Must be certified as a “law enforcement officer” by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board or have graduated from a law enforcement recruit academy within the past 3 years
  • Minimum of 60 college credits in addition to high school diploma or equivalent
  • U.S. Citizen; minimum age – 21
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Ability to possess a firearm
  • No Felony convictions; No Domestic Abuse convictions
  • Good verbal and written skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Ability to perform essential job functions of this position

  • Ability and willingness to assume responsibility
  • General knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, methods, and practices
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and follow through on an appropriate course of action
  • Demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, peers, other law enforcement officials, and the public
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Qualifying applicants will be required to participate in an oral interview process, background investigation, psychological evaluation, medical examination, and drug screening.
